The main publishing project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is the fundamental document series entitled “Documents on the Foreign Policy of the USSR” launched in 1956. 25 volumes of the series have been published; the last 25th volume related to the foreign policy and diplomacy of our country in 1942 was issued in 2010. At the moment we are working on the 26th volume, which will include documents of 1943.
Last year we published the 4th (final) volume of the collection “The USSR and the German Issue. 1941-1949” which covers the period from June 1948 till October 1949. The work on this volume was started in 2008.
The collection of documents dedicated to the Russian diplomacy during the First World War is the other important project (initiated in 2012) to be issued on the occasion of the centennial of the beginning of the war.
We usually attach great importance to the preparation of bilateral document collections based on arrangements with our foreign partners. The archival documents are provided on parity basis and reflect political, economical, cultural and other ties between two countries in the context of world politics and international relations.
In 2010 the work on the second volume of the document project “Soviet-Chinese Relations. 1952-1955” has been undertaken (the first volume, which covers the period from 1949 to 1951, was published in 2009 to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries).
The preparation of the bilateral collection “USSR/Russia – Iceland. 1943-2008”, scheduled to issue this year on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, is nearing completion.
Last year we have started the work on the second volume of the collection “Russia – Ukraine. 2001-2010” (the first one related to the period from 1990 to 2000 was published in 2001).
