Project description:

The Documents diplomatiques français project aims at presenting the most significant documents of French foreign policy, gathered by the Ministère des Affaires étrangères. The first DDF serie was started in 1927 and concerned the 1871-1914 period. The second one, founded in 1961, was created in order to prepare the publication of archives related to the origins of Second World War. The ongoing DDF project was established by decree in 1983. It consists of documents produced after 1954, year of the Geneva armistice which put an end to the French Indochina war. It was then extended to the following chronological eras : 1914-1919 ; 1920-1932 ; 1939-1944 ; 1944-1954 and from 1954.
